We use the present simple to talk about:
- routines and habits
- things that happen regularly
- facts and general truths
Positive Form + Examples:
- I/you/we/they + base verb
- I usually go to bed early.
- You look tired.
- We eat breakfast together.
- he/she/it + verb + S
- My neighbor plays loud music.
- The highway near my house gets really crowded.
- My manager occasionally sends me emails on the weekend.
- She likes arriving before anyone else.
๐ Your example: Write one sentence about YOUR daily routine, and one sentence about SOMEONE ELSE’S daily routine.
Negative Form + Examples:
- I/you/we/they + do not (donโt) + base verb
- I donโt drink coffee at home.
- My neighbors donโt have parties very often.
- he/she/it + does not (doesnโt) + base verb
- My boss doesnโt expect us to answer e-mails after work.
- My husband doesnโt often eat breakfast.
- The subway doesnโt get stuck in traffic jams.
๐ Your example: Write one sentence about something you DON’T do on the weekend, and one sentence about something SOMEONE ELSE doesn’t do on the weekend.
Questions + Examples:
- Do + I/you/we/they + base verb?
- What time do you get up?
- Do you work on Saturdays too?
- Does + he/she/it + base verb?
- When does your day start?
๐ Your example: Think about a famous person or celebrity you’d like to interview. Write 2 questions asking about their work, habits, routines, or activities.
